Calendar Tuesday, July 1st, 2014
As of 2013, over 60 percent of the United States population was using a smartphone. Smartphones are an easy and convenient way to stay connected, but they are also serving multiple purposes, especially for those who work on the road. Aside from being able to access your email, check in with work colleagues and check up on your social media feeds, you can use your smartphone to scan and send faxes, even when you’re miles away from your home office. Aside from faxing, you can use your smartphone to share files, store your work calendar, and keep up with co-workers movements and work progress.
Scanning A File For Faxing
When scanning a file for faxing using your smartphone, you’ll need an application that takes pictures taken from your phone and turns them into.PDF files, or other fax machine compatible file types. You can find an app in your app store by simply searching for “scan and fax.” CamScanner and File Anywhere are both well-liked scanning apps.
Once you have the application, all you need to do is open the application and take a picture of the document you want to scan. The application will take the image, sharpen it, and alter the file type to ensure it can be sent to a fax machine.
How To Send A Fax
Once you have the document uploaded into your phone, you’ll simply need to keep the app open and utilize the fax number within the app. Once you enter the number, you’ll be prompted to pick the file you want to fax. Simply pick the document you plan on faxing from the document roll, and send it. You will receive an electronic notification when the fax has been received by the other party.
Many of the fax apps that are currently on the market will require you to purchase fax credits. Normally, you can purchase a package of fax pages, and you’ll be prompted when you’re running low on your pages. Package prices range from $2 to $20, for between 10 faxes to 100 faxes. You can choose a package that best fits your faxing needs.
Other Smartphone Uses
While using a smartphone to send faxes can be particularly helpful to businesses, there are a plethora of other uses for a smartphone in the business realm. Apps, such as EverNote, make it easier than ever to keep all of your information organized, and it makes it easier to share your information with others in your office.
