Steps To Cleaning Roller Bars On A Copier
Check the copier manual to determine whether or not you can use an alcohol-based cleaner or rubbing alcohol on the rollers. For some models, alcohol will eat away at the roller bars' surface or potentially cause a fire. If alcohol is not recommended, use water.
Take a lint-free cloth so that there is no risk of getting lint into the rollers, which will present just as many issues as dust and paper particles. Wet the cloth with water or alcohol, then wring it out until it is damp.
Gently wipe the rollers' surfaces to get rid of any dust and other debris. If you are able to turn the rollers, you may do so to clean them more thoroughly. Take care not to force the rollers, simply wiping the surfaces that are within reach.
Use a second soft, dry lint-free cloth to dry the rollers. Once you have used the cloth, allow them to air dry fully until there isn't a trace of dampness before using the copier again.
Do You Still Have Questions?
Most copy machine user manuals have a section about general maintenance that covers routine cleaning procedures, including the recommended products to use for these procedures.
If you're ever in doubt about how to take care of the roller bars or any other component in your copy machine, don't hesitate to get in touch with your copier dealer.
